Li Chiu (Gordon Lam Ka-tung)
A police officer in Foshan, Li Chiu always believed in the power of guns over wushu, until Ip Man rescues him during a particularly ugly and violent challenge staged by Kam Shan-chau. The incident immediately changes his mind about wushu and he then becomes a great admirer of Ip, whom he begins to look up to as his sifu. During the Japanese occupation, Li Chiu is forced to become an interpreter for the Japanese. When Ip is forced into hard labour, Li looks out for Ip. During the Sino-Japanese championship battle, Li goes through a life-changing awakening. He makes it his mission to take up arms and lead his fellow Chinese in the fight against the Japanese occupied forces.
